Kathleen (Kay) Heffernan [neé Breen]
July 25, 2024

We extend our condoldences to the family of Kay Heffernan  (Dun Laoghaire and formerly of Glasthule, Co. Dublin), who passed away peacefully on July 25th 2024 surrounded by her family and in the wonderful care of the staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Kathleen (Kay); dearly beloved wife and best friend of 61 years to Joe, much loved and devoted mother of Michelle, Peter and Joseph. Sadly missed by her loving husband, daughter, son, daughters-in-law Dianah and Eileen, son-in-law Dermot, grandchildren Joseph, Chloe and David, her sister Mary, brothers Noel, Philip and Larry, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she rest in peace.

Michael O'Brien

We offer our condolences to the family of Michael O’’Brien (Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin) who passed away peacefully on 21st July in the wonderful kind care of all the staff of the Ashbury Nursing Home.  Michael, beloved husband of the recently deceased Kathleen, loving father of Lorraine, Kathy and Geraldine.  Sadly missed by his daughters, sons-in-law Declan and David, his grandchildren Caoimhe, Ella, Sophie and Stephen, great-grandson Callum, sisters-in-law Bernie and Helen, extended family and friends.

Michael’s funeral mass will be celebrated here in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown at 10 am  on Wednesday 24th July. The Funeral Mass can be viewed online at https://monkstownparish.ie/webcam/  which will be followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.


Leontia Reilly (neé Kent)

We offer our condolences to the family of Leontia Reilly (née Kent) Leontia (Monkstown, Co. Dublin and formerly of Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow) who passed away peacefully on 14th July 2024 with her family by her side, after a strong fight, in the care of the staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Seamus and adored mother of Margaret, Christine and Gareth. She will be sadly missed by her children, brother Jim, sisters Mary, Margo and Joan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family and friends.  May she rest in peace.

Frances Flynn (neé Curtis)

We extend our condolences to the family of Frances Flynn (née Curtis) who passed away peacefully on July 12th, 2024, at St Vincent’s University Hospital surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Paddy and loving mother of Ronan and the late James. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister Mary, daughter-in-law Juanita, Ronan’s partner Nicole, grandchildren Anna and Alex, sister-in-law Liz, devoted carer Gemma, extended family, neighbours and friends, in particular Maura, Peggy and Maggie.  May Frances rest in peace.

Jacinta (Sinty) O'Reilly (neé Jenkins)

We extend our condolences to the family of Jacinta (Sinty) O’Reilly (Castlebyrne Park, Blackrock and formerly of Smyths Villas, York Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin) who passed away peacefully on 9th July,  surrounded by her family and in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Anne’s Ward, St. Vincent’s University Hospital after an illness fought with great courage. Jacinta (Sinty); dearly beloved partner and best friend of Dermot, much loved and adored mother to Amanda, Lisa, Julie, John-Paul, Gavin, Janice, Darren and Edel, devoted nanny to Jodie, Luke, Taylor, Ava, Aurora, Eyra, Poppy, Conán, Katie and the late baby Charlie, predeceased by her parents John and June, brothers Willie and John (Jinks) and her best friend Breda (Daniels). She will be very sadly missed by Dermot, daughters, sons, sons-in-law Paul, Darren, Hempo and Shane, grandchildren, her sisters and brothers Mary, Jane, Joseph, Michael and Michelle, sister-in-law Valerie, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and great neighbours.

Her funeral mass will take place here in St. Patrick’s Monkstown on Saturday 13th July at 12 noon.


David Burns

We extend our condolences to the family of David Burns who passed away in St. Vincent’s Hospital on Sunday 7th July.  His funeral mass will take place here in St. Patrick’s Monkstown on Thursday 11th July.


John Patrick Fitzpatrick

We extend our condolences to the family of John Patrick Fitzpatrick, who passed away peacefully on 4th July in St Vincent’s Hospital, surrounded by his children. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, former Chief Executive of the Irish National Lottery and member of Dun Laoghaire Golf Club, passed away peacefully on July 4th 2024.  He is survived by his beloved wife Klayre, his loving children Fiona and David, their partners Liz and Juan, as well as his five grandchildren, his sisters Sr. Doreen Boland SHJC and Anne-Marie O’Malley, extended family and lifelong friends.  John’s Funeral Mass will take place here in St. Patrick’s Monkstown on Wednesday 10th July, followed by burial in Deansgrange Cemetry.  For those who cannot attend, you can view the funeral mass on the parish webcam bu clicking here.

 

 


Alice McCready (neé Stars)

We offer our condolences to the family of Alice McCready (née Stars) who passed away quietly on  July 3 rd 2024 in St Vincent’s Hospital.  Alice, beloved wife of the late Michael, loving mother of Carol, Linda, Laura, Paula and Ali. Sadly  missed by her daughters, sons-in-law Tony, Alan and David, her adored grandchildren Michael, Gary, Daniella, Sam, Rachael, Casey and Haley, great-grandchildren Sáoirse, Lachlan, Alec and  Jamie, extended family and friends. We extend our confidences to the relatives of Aíne Archer  (formerly of Shandon Road Phibsborough) who peacefully on 19th June, in the wonderful care of The Fern Dean Nursing Home and also many years in Donore Nursing Home, Bray. Predeceased by her brother Aedán, sisters Máire and Fidelma. Deeply regretted by her nephew Richard and his family.  Her Funeral Service will be on Monday morning, 24th June, at 10am here in in St Patrick’s Church Monkstown followed by interment in Glasnevin Cemetery.
