We extend our condolences to the family of Margaret (Peggy) Robinson who passed away peacefully on Monday 28th July, surrounded by her loving family, at St Vincent’s University Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Sean and loving sister of Breda and the late Joan. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Helen and Carol, son-in- law Mark, grandchildren Sean and Lauryn, sister, brother-in-law Gerry, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  May she rest in peace

Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday, 31st July at 10am here in in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. The Funeral can be viewed: on our parish webcam  St. Patrick’s Church


Kathleen Algar (née Duffy)
July 26, 2025

We extend our condolences to the family of Kathleen Algar (née Duffy) late of Monkstown, Co. Dublin. who passed away on July 26th 2025, in the kind care of the wonderful staff of St. Michael’s Hospital and then the Blackrock Hospice, surrounded by her loving family, after a short illness bravely fought with great dignity.

Kathleen, loving mother of Rachel, Leonie and Deborah. Very sadly missed by her daughters, sons-in-law Michael (Teddy), Dan and Patrick, grandchildren Ava, Jack, Esmé, Kate, Cameron, Juliette and Elodie, brothers Éamonn and Don, sister Mary, brother-in-law Shaun, sister-in-law Sinéad, nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends. Also remembering her late brother Paddy and sister Elizabeth.

Kathleen’s funeral will take place here in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown arriving for 11am Funeral Mass, which can be viewed online at https://www.churchservices.tv/monkstown, followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to St. Michael’s Hospital, Dún Laoghaire or Blackrock Hospice.


Richard John Maher

We extern our condolences to the family of Richard John Maher, (Blackrock, Co. Dublin and formerly of Donnybrook)who passed away peacefully with his family, in the kind and tender care of the staff in St. Vincent’s University Hospital on July 19th, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of Pauline and loving Dad to Richard, Declan, Stephen and Ciarán. He will be fondly remembered by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law Jane, Kara and Claire, cherished grandchildren Kyran, Liam, Harry, Sarah, Conor, Suzie, Cillian, Holly, Áron and James, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace.

Frances (Nanny Franny) Thompson (née Hughes)

The death has occurred of Frances (Nanny Franny) THOMPSON (née Hughes)  (Smyths Villas / Gardens, York Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin) – July 18th 2025 (peacefully) at home surrounded by her loving family. Frances (Nanny Franny); dearly beloved wife of the late Paddy (Whack), much loved and adored mother of David, Derek, Alan and Erica. She will be very sadly missed by her heart broken sons, daughter, grandchildren Kelly, Dale, Cian, Emma, Abbie, Hannah, Kyle, Bella, Alfie and India, great-grandchildren Cameron, Millie, Tori, Leon, Ella, Brooke, Leo, Kai, Ellie, Harry, Charlie and Tommy Lee, brother Tommy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

John Bourke

We extend our condolences to the family of John Bourke, (Monkstown, Co. Dublin and Ballina, Co. Mayo) who passed away on Friday 11th July 2025. Beloved husband of Kathleen and devoted father of Cliodhna, Maeve and Deirdre. He will be sadly missed by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, sisters Marion and Anne, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his brother David.  May John rest in peace.

John’s Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Tuesday (July 15th) here in the Church of St. Patrick, Monkstown followed by private cremation. No flowers please. Donations if desired, to Alzheimer Society of Ireland.


Royden (Roy) Bedell

We extend our condolences to the family of Royden (Roy) Bedell, who passed waway peacefully on 9th July 2025, surrounded by family and in the kind care of the staff at St. Michael’s Hospital. Beloved husband and best friend of Colette (Farmer), and much-loved father of Cris, Kate and Nina. Cherished grandfather of Carol, Leanne, Suzanne, Sabrina, Jennifer, Sharon, Annaliese and Daniel and his many great-grandchildren. Deeply missed by Colette’s children Orla, Catherine and Dónall and their children, all of whom held him in great affection. Now at peace, sailing on calm waters’
