Brendan Lyddy
October 13, 2025

We extend our condolences to the family of Brendan Lyddy (Monkstown, Co. Dublin formerly of Limerick City and Ballinderry, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and late of The Irish Press) who passed away peacefully, at home, on 13th October 2025.with his cherished daughter Sadhbh by his side. Predeceased by his wife Emer. Brendan will be forever loved and missed by his daughter, son-in-law Donal, granddaughter Muireann, brother Ciaran, sisters-in-law Hilda and Gay and her husband Tom, nieces, nephews, relatives and his many swimming friends from Whiterock Beach. A special word of thanks to his wonderful carers and in particular to Dahlia.

Brendan’s funeral service will be on Thursday morning (16th October) at 11am here in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown followed thereafter by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery.


Herbert Langwallner

We offer our condolences to the family of Herbert Langwallner  (Leopardstown, Dublin 18 and formerly Athlone) who passed away peacefully on 5th October, in the care of the staff at Beechfield Manor Nursing Home, Shankill. Beloved husband of the late Mai and devoted father of David and Andrew. He will be sadly missed by his sons, daughter- in-law Michelle, grandchildren, sister Hani, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Amanda Merrigan

MERRIGAN (Sallynoggin and formerly of Monkstown Farm) – September 10th 2025 (suddenly) at home. Amanda; dearly beloved daughter of Marie, loving partner of Keith, much loved mother of Nathan, Alannah, Abbie and Reece, adored grandmother of Dean, Cara, Rían, Saoirse and especially her little side kick and best friend Ellie-Mae, loving sister of Tracey, Rachel and Donna. She will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken mother, partner, children, grandchildren, sisters, brother-in-law Trevor, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Amanda’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday (Sept 16th) here in  St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown at 10 am. Jacqueline (Jacker) Baker

We extend our condolences to the family of Jacqueline (Jacker) Baker, (Formerly of Oliver Plunkett Villas, Monkstown Fram and St. Michael’s House, Glendoher, Rathfarnham, and ‘Cara’)  who passed away peacefully on September 3rd 2025,  surrounded by her family. Jacqueline (Jacker); dearly beloved daughter of the late Jack and Clara. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, also her beloved family dogs who brought her so much joy, her large circle of friends in particular her Glendoher family.  May Jacqueline’s gentle soul rest in peace.
