It is with regret that we announce that our beautiful church will be closed for essential maintenance from Monday the 25th of May until  Friday the 24th of July.

A recent safety survey found that the main earth connection for our church has become badly corroded. The earth is the part of the electrical system that protects people from electric shock, so this fault must be repaired immediately. To ensure everyone’s safety, the church will be closed while the electricians replace the earth connection and upgrade the old control boards.  As much of the wiring and the transformers for the interior lights in the church are wery high it will be necesary to install scaffolding.  While the scaffolding is in place, we will also repaint the upper walls and ceiling.

This work will cost in the region of €100,000.  If parishioners wish to contribute to the cost of this work, please use the blue envelopes at the back of the church.
