Last Monday ( 18th November) Deacon Eric led an extended period of prayer for an increase in Vocations from 2:30 to 5 pm and then also in the evening a Holy Hour from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The Monstrance, which was blessed by Pope John Paul II on 24th November 2004 specifically to facilitate people to pray for an increase in Vocations.
The Monstrance has traveled extensively around North America and has been brought to Ireland for the very first time by members of Serra International who have been entrusted with the care of the Monstrance by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
The Monstrance is currently being brought around to 12 dioceses across Ireland before being brought back to the US on 30th November. Here is the itinerary of places and dates the Monstrance will be used across Ireland.
