Church Painting – Progress

Re-Painting of the Church Sanctuary & Choir Gallery

Our church closed on Monday 9th October for repair and repainting of the walls over the sanctuary (altar) and organ gallery.  The following collage of photos provides a reminder of the extent of the damage which was caused by water ingress, which was resolved with the re-roofing of the church.

The work commenced on Monday 9th October with the erection of scaffolding over the sanctuary and organ gallery.  It took over a week to complete the scaffolding work.  You can see from the following photograph the height and amount of scaffolding required.

The painting contractor has made good progress and as of last Friday (27th  Oct).  As you can see from the following photograph that the painting over the sanctuary has been completed and the scaffolding has been removed.

We hope that all goes well over this last week and the work is finished as our target date to reopen for public mass is on Saturday 4th November.
